Bupa Arabia Makes it Mark at the Biggest Hajj Hackathon in the WorldIn line with the Kingdom’s efforts to serve millions of pilgrims and visitors
Jeddah – August 7th 2018: Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance participated as the healthcare sponsor at the 2018 “Hajj Hackathon”, held in presence of renowned personalities and top-notch dignitaries in Jeddah. The event, which is the biggest Hackathon in the world, was organized by the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP) and gathered leading developers and programmers to enhance millions of pilgrims’ experience in the Kingdom.
Bupa Arabia’s strategic partnership in this grand national event is of great significance. “Hajj Hackathon” brought together thousands of global talents from around the world with a clear objective in line with the Saudi Vision 2030. The latter lies in the creation of a vibrant community that enjoys a healthier lifestyle, next to increasing the Kingdom’s capacity to welcome more pilgrims and enhance the religious journey in the Holy City towards accommodating 6 million Hajj and 30 million Umrah pilgrims by 2030.

Bupa Arabia welcomed all participants during the event at its health lounge and ran health checkups using fundamental medical tests. This was complemented by diabetes and blood pressure tests, diagnostic eye and dental examinations, in addition to valuable guidance in overall health and advisory on healthy food and sport habits. The company also displayed its technological e-services and digital platforms catered to its members’ preferences.
The Saudi “Hajj Hackathon” – recently announced the biggest event of its kind – has successfully broken the Guinness World Record and garnered close to 3,000 developers from 50 countries handpicked amongst 20,000 applicants.
