For the Third Year During the Holy Month of Ramadan Bupa Arabia and Careem Launch their Annual “Kaswat Al Khair” Campaign

Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 24th of May 2017: In the midst of a time for devotion, prayer and self-discipline, Bupa Arabia and Careem, the largest transportation network company on social apps in the Kingdom, have partnered for the third year in a row in a charitable campaign that aims to collect donations in the society and give back to local charitable organizations during the Holy month of Ramadan. This falls under their pioneering role to give back to the community they live in and out of the goodwill and keeneess to support social responsibility, especially during the month of kindness and solidarity.


Bupa Arabia, in partnership with Careem, aims to collect donations and small gestures from their employees and the rest of the community, namely electronics, clothing, household devices and toys. On the other hand, Careem’s captains will be handling the donation transportation from each home as they deliver it to Bupa Arabia’s headquarters in Jeddah, Riyadh and Khobar. Once the delivery and filtering process are finalized, these donations will be then sent to charitable organization that are registered in the Ministry of Labor and Social Development to be distributed to the less fortunate.


Mrs. Malaz Bayoumi, Head of CSR at Bupa Arabia expressed her enjoyment organizing this campaign in its third consecutive edition as it paves way for all supporters to take part in giving a helping hand to the local community during the Holy month of Ramadan. Mrs. Bayoumi also confirmed the company’s eagerness to support different parties and charities locally and to reinforce Corporate Social Responsibility as an imminent part of their drive to serve the Kingdom and its people at the best possible manner.


On that note, Mr. Mohammed Al Modyan, Marketing Manager at Careem was pleased to launch this campaign during Ramadan to display the true meaning of Islam that teaches humility and helping those in need. He also stressed on giving the helping hand and being role models as part of the company’s pillars. Therfore, this campaign also entails the captains’ role to participate and deliver these donations for free. He also mentioned that Careem abides by their social responsibility as part of the company’s foundation and structure.


Bupa Arabia and Careem’s campaign received favorable acceptance last year. It recorded a unique success among all members of the community who rushed excitingly to offer what they can and play an active role in the community. As result, the campaign managed to raise over 68,000 pieces and Careem’s captains recorded 254 trips during the process.
